Welcome to the commemorative website for RJ Mitchell, the designer of the Spitfire, and the Battle of Britain.
RJ Mitchell is most notable for his design of the Battle of Britain winning aircraft Supermarine Spitfire. The Spitfire was RJ Mitchell's biggest creation and remains one of the classic fighter aircraft of all time, and certainly one of the most recognisable.
